Lifestyle Newborn and Family Photography: Baby Grant
When chatting with this awesome mother, she asked me if her baby was too old for me to do newborn photos. Had they missed that perfect, sleepy newborn window of time that many photographers suggest? I immediately assured her that he was absolutely NOT too old! This is the beauty of a lifestyle approach to baby photography: we are documenting them now, at whatever wonderful stage they may be in! While I've loved photographing so many brand new babies, this baby (a few weeks older) was so expressive, full of the most wonderful faces, and his intent eye contact showed the human connection of which he is beginning to be so aware.
We went with Baby's cues, and during nursing breaks, I photographed the rest of the children doing what they like to do. I was informed that this sweet girl plays with her bunnies in the upstairs corner under this window, every day, sometimes for hours on end. Of course, we had to document that bunny-playing!
This big brother (above) LOVES to draw in his sketch book, and his drawing ability for his age was truly amazing!
OH! I could fill up this entire post with various shots of this baby's varied facial expressions!
Like many little boys, this one LOVES his buses, cars, and trucks!
The oldest in the family is an avid reader, and she loves her quiet reading time in her window seat.
During one nursing break, while I was chatting with Mom, one of these girls spontaneously started jumping on the bed. The other thought it looked fun and jumped up to join her. I, of course, was thrilled to document it!
Above: a post-jump FLOP on the bed that resulted in the most fabulous hair photo!
This family clearly adores their newest little addition. While watching their interactions there was no mistaking that his is a home filled with love, and that this little guy has joined an amazing family wherein he will always know that he is LOVED!
